High Performance Training

About the program

High performance training is for licensed pilots who want to step up from basic trainers. You learn the engine, power management and systems of a high-performance airplane, plus the planning and judgment that come with higher speeds and longer cross-country flights. When you finish, you receive the logbook endorsement that lets you act as pilot in command of a high-performance airplane.

We train in the Cirrus SR22T, a turbocharged, 315 horsepower airplane with a Garmin Perspective+ glass cockpit and the CAPS parachute system. Flying a modern high-performance airplane builds experience that stands out on a resume for pilots heading toward corporate or airline careers. Contact us to talk through your experience and goals.

What key steps will you take to complete the program?

  • Step 1

Learn High-Performance Systems on the Ground

Ground training covers the powerful engine, power and fuel management, and the systems and avionics of the SR22T. You learn how a high-performance airplane behaves differently from a basic trainer before you fly one.

  • Step 2

    Fly the High-Performance Airplane

With your instructor you practice normal and emergency procedures, higher-speed handling, and the planning habits that go with fast cross-country flying. You fly the airplane until you can manage it safely and confidently.

  • Step 3

    Earn Your High-Performance Endorsement

When your instructor is satisfied with your training, you receive the logbook endorsement for high-performance airplanes. It is a one-time sign-off and it opens the door to flying more powerful aircraft.
