Three brand new 2026 Piper Pilot 100i aircraft with glass cockpits are now on the line at Blitz Aviation in Ogden, wearing our new winged B logo.

Northern Utah skies just got an upgrade. Three brand new 2026 Piper Pilot 100i aircraft are now on the line at Blitz Aviation in Ogden, and they are the airplanes you could be learning in.

If you are weighing flight schools, the airplane you train in shapes how comfortable you feel in the cockpit and how a lesson feels from the first minute. Our first order of Piper Pilot 100i trainers has officially arrived, with glass cockpits and our new winged B on every tail. Here is what that means for you, and where we are headed next.

Meet N301BL, N603BL, and N402BL

The three new airplanes carry the tail numbers N301BL, N603BL, and N402BL. Each one is a brand new 2026 Piper Pilot 100i, a low-wing Piper trainer, and all three now fly out of our base at Ogden-Hinckley Airport. You can see each airplane on our fleet page.

The numbers are friendly to a training airplane. The Pilot 100i has 180 horsepower, a maximum cruise speed of 128 knots (about 147 mph), and a maximum range of 522 nautical miles (about 601 statute miles). That is plenty of speed and range for the cross-country flights you will plan as a student.

Fresh airplanes change the feel of a training day. A new interior, clean paint, and a ramp lined with matching airplanes make it easy to picture yourself walking out for a preflight inspection with your instructor. That is the walk-around check you do before every flight, and a new airplane is a clean place to learn what each check means.

N603BL, shown above, wears our blue and white colors with the Blitz Aviation and Piper lettering on the nose. All three airplanes share the same look, so you will spot them from across the ramp. Because they are the same model, the habits you build in one airplane, from where you find the radio to how you read the panel, carry over to the others. That consistency is useful when your schedule puts you in a different tail number from one lesson to the next.

What a Glass Cockpit Changes in Your First Lessons

A glass cockpit shows your flight information on digital screens instead of a wall of round dials. Speed, altitude, heading, and your position on a moving map sit on one display, where you can read them together. Our new Pilot 100i airplanes have glass cockpits, and the panel in N301BL shows the Garmin screens you will use from the first lesson.

A modern panel gives your instructor more time to teach you how to fly and less time explaining where to look. You build situational awareness as you go: where you are, where the airport sits, and where the weather is heading. When you start instrument work, the same screens help you see how the pieces of an approach fit together.

If you plan to train toward an Instrument Rating or a Commercial Pilot certificate, learning on modern displays early gives you a head start on how many airplanes are set up today. You can also compare our newest airplanes with the Garmin-equipped Piper Archer II to see how the fleet fits the stage of training you are in.

How the Pilot 100i Fits Our Piper Training at Ogden-Hinckley

We recently shared that Blitz Aviation joined the Piper Flight School Alliance, and you can read the full story in our post on joining the Piper Flight School Alliance. The new Pilot 100i airplanes are the next step. They put more Piper airplanes on our ramp and give you another way to train with us.

Piper has built trainers for a long time, and the Alliance is its network of schools that fly Piper aircraft. Membership brings manufacturer support when an airplane needs attention, and faster access to parts means fewer canceled lessons. With more Piper airplanes in our fleet, that support reaches more of the airplanes you fly.

You also train with one team of instructors who know the airplanes, the airport, and your goals. A growing fleet gives that team more to work with when they plan your lessons, and it gives you a bigger school to grow into as you move from one certificate to the next.

What More Airplanes Means for Your Training Plan

More airplanes on the line gives us more to work with when we build a schedule around your life. Whether you fly a couple of evenings a week around a job or you are in one of our accelerated programs, your plan has to fit the airplanes, the instructors, and you.

Every student’s path is a little different, so the airplane you fly depends on your program, your stage of training, and your instructor’s plan. Call us at 801-823-4122 and we will talk through how the fleet fits the program you have in mind.

The New Winged B on Every Tail

The new airplanes are the first to carry our new logo. The winged blue B sits on the tail of each Pilot 100i, and you can see it on both airplanes flying in formation in the photo below.

We are growing, and we want the way we look to match the way we train: modern, confident, and built for students who want to fly. When you walk out to preflight, the airplane in front of you carries the winged B, and the hangar where your lesson starts is Hangar 397.

Paying for Training in a Growing Fleet

New airplanes are exciting, but funding is the first barrier most students bring up. We work with financing partners so you can plan your training in stages. You can read how Stratus Financial and Flight Training Finance work with students, and our team can walk you through the next step. Rates for the new airplanes are best discussed with us directly, so call us and we will go through the numbers together.

Questions Students Ask About Our New Airplanes

How many new airplanes did Blitz Aviation add? We added three brand new 2026 Piper Pilot 100i aircraft: N301BL, N603BL, and N402BL. They are our first order of Pilot 100i airplanes, and you can see them on our fleet page.

What is a glass cockpit? It is a cockpit that shows your flight information on digital screens instead of separate round dials. Our new Pilot 100i airplanes have glass cockpits.

Do you still fly your other airplanes? Yes. The Pilot 100i airplanes join the airplanes you already see in our fleet, so the fleet is bigger than it was.

Where do the new airplanes fly from? They fly out of Ogden-Hinckley Airport (KOGD), and our address is 3911 Airport Rd, Hangar 397, Ogden, UT 84405. Our location page has directions and more about the airport.

Which airplane will I fly in my lessons? It depends on your program and your stage of training. Call us and we will talk through what fits your plan, or start with our program pages.

Is the logo change a sign of other changes? The new winged B is part of a bigger step for us. The fleet is growing, and so are we. More is on the way, so keep an eye on our blog.

Can I see the new airplanes in person? A discovery flight is the best way to see our base, meet our instructors, and step into the hangar. It runs about one hour, and you can book yours online.

Book Your Discovery Flight and See the Fleet in Person

Our fleet is growing, and so are we. The best way to see what that looks like is to come out to Ogden, meet the team, and walk the ramp. Your discovery flight is a no-pressure first lesson that takes about one hour. Bring a valid photo ID and closed-toe shoes, and we will take care of the rest of your first visit.
